Parks and Ball Fields

Ball fieldsThe City of Terrell Park Board has received national recognition for the high quality of the city park system and availability of recreational activities.

The city park system provides scheduled activities for children and adults. 150 acres are set aside for recreational purposes including 5 parks,  an Olympic-size swimming pool, 6 tennis courts, 2 lighted baseball-softball complexes with a total of 8 fields, 9 soccer fields, jogging trails, playgrounds, and a picnic pavilion with lake overlook.

The Oak Grove Golf Course is a nine-hole course open to the public.

    Enjoy a day of outdoor fun at this beautiful and challenging 18-hole miniature golf course and driving range or test your skill at the video arcade. Fun City's full service snack bar features Otis Spunkmier cookies and Blue Bell ice cream.

    Fun City is located one mile south of U.S. 80 on Highway 148


Fishing and Area Lakes

There is great fishing in near by lakesTexas’ best fishing is just a cast away!

Terrell is located within a triangle formed by three of the best fishing lakes in Texas. Lakes Ray Hubbard, Tawakoni, and Fork are all less than an hour drive from Terrell. All three lakes offer campgrounds, picnic areas, fishing and boating facilities.

Lake Tawakoni with 57 sq. miles of surface area is billed as the home of the largest catfish in Texas, a 104- pound blue cat.

Lake Fork has a national reputation. Eight of the top 10 largemouth bass caught in Texas, including the state’s largest  -- an 18 pound, 2 ounce trophy caught in January, 1992  -- have come from this reservoir located about 45 miles east of Terrell.

Lake Ray Hubbard is located 12 miles west of Terrell off highway 80.

Fishing is also available at Cedar Creek Reservoir, 20 miles south of Terrell off Hwy 175.

Kaufman County Civic Theater productionTheater

The Kaufman County Civic Theatre brings live theater to Terrell. Season performances have featured "Lend Me a Tenor", "Miracle on 34th Street", "The Music Man", "Night of the Iguana" and many more. Curtain time for evening performances is 8 p.m.; matinees begin at 2 p.m.
